In our latest series of ‘Delve into the Delta team’ blog, we caught up with Karen, our Savvy Security Officer in Sussex, to learn a little more about the vital role she plays at Delta Security Management.
What is your job title?
I’m a Security Guard for Delta Security Management in West Sussex, providing support to one of our major clients with their security guarding requirements across several premises.
What sort of duties do you have at work?
I patrol our clients’ sites regularly and create a visible security presence to deter potential opportunists. I spend most of my day reviewing CCTV, conducting investigations, and issuing internal and external access passes to the premises. I also conduct internal and external patrols of the premises and ensure I’m a friendly and approachable face to the business.
What’s the most exciting and challenging part of your job?
Each day is different however, I must admit, I enjoy completing a CCTV investigation and finding the correct result as it creates a real buzz, and I’m always pleased to help a client resolve a problem.
Tell us a time you’ve gone above and beyond to help a client:
I always ensure to complete all my work promptly and communicate any issues to the client management team. Communication is an essential factor in the security of our client’s premises, so I ensure the client is in the loop and offer my support or assistance with anything else. I always use my initiative to ensure any potential problems are resolved before escalating.
Why did you join Delta Security Management?
When I read the job description, it was exactly what I was looking for, and it has proven to be rewarding. I have previously worked in retail security, so I wasn’t sure if my skills were transferable, but they have proven invaluable in this role.
